Happy February My Kind of Yoga and Yoga Chew Valley friends!
This months practice we are looking at the theme of Sun, Moon and Stars. We are really wanting to encourage the idea of play, and what feels good and right for you and your body.
We are practicing a traditional Sun Salutation variation as well as Moon Salutation as well as a standing sequence which incorporates various star shape poses. Looking at keeping regimented and really using the breath in the traditional Sun Sal (no jumping back etc), to then the complete opposite with the Moon Sal; lots of moving, rolling, walking you Downward Dog etc.
We really want to encourage you to be more playful with your movement and move at your own pace and breath (and also not with the breath), but to also feel the contrast between the two different Salutations.
Give thanks to the Sun and the Moon and the cycle of the two that intertwines our entire lives. The various cycles in our lives that link up with the Sun and Lunar cycles. The change in energy with every full moon and new moon.
It’s all very fitting that we started this month with the Super Blue Moon…
Did you get to see it?
Do you notice any shift in energies with the change of the moon?
